Agra, the city of Taj Mahal also has many important historic
monuments and Agra Fort proves its importance by its beautiful and glorious
palaces. It was the main abode for the rulers the Mughal Dynasty till 1638,
when the capital was transferred to Delhi from Agra. This massive Fort has the
guts to have its name in the list of UNESCO World Heritage site. It is situated
approximately 2.5 km northwest towards the magnificent Taj Mahal.
The Indian army occupies 75 per cent of the fort and only 25
percent is approachable for the tourists/visitors.
An entry fee to this
monument is INR 600 per person for foreigners and INR 50 per person for
domestic travelers.
